The Association of Swedish Fashion Brands, ASFB, is a member owned trade organization that works to promote and develop the Swedish fashion industry. We were founded by major Swedish fashion houses in 2009 and have since been a catalyst for positive development within the industry.

As the custodians of Stockholm Fashion Week, SFW, we provide a platform for Swedish brands, talents, and students to showcase their work internationally, through collaborations with organization’s such as the Swedish Institute and venues such as Paris Fashion Week.

Additionally, we regularly connect with our members and host events focused on subjects such as profitability, sustainability, and growth.

Our mission is to represent and support the interests and ambitions of the Swedish fashion industry, fostering communication and collaboration among industry professionals, and engaging with legislative powers to drive positive change for the industry.

AN INVESTMENT INTO THE SWEDISH FASHION INDUSTRY

As a member of the ASFB, you are directly investing in the advancement of the Swedish fashion industry. The ASFB is founded and run by Swedish brands, and by becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to build closer relationships with other brands through our member events, fashion weeks, and other projects.

Your input and ideas are valued, and as a member, you will have a say in the direction of the ASFB and the trajectory of the Swedish fashion industry as a whole. You may be consulted when the ASFB provides feedback on legislation or in the development of Stockholm Fashion Week.

The ASFB is a member-driven organization, and our decisions are made in consultation with our members. As a member, you will receive regular communication about our events, developments in our projects, and newsletters. Investing in the Swedish Fashion Association as a member or partner is an investment in the growth and development of the Swedish fashion industry as a whole.

    We regularly arrange events for the industry to learn of upcoming production trends, legislation,
and to facilitate the exchange of ideas.
  • CHANNELS TO LEGISLATION
    
The ASFB is regularly contacted by Regeringskansliet and EU-Kommissionen on matters relating to textile and fashion industry legislation and is asked to leave detailed remarks and provide suggestions to adjustments. 
We provide these responses in cooperation with our members and board of industry experts. Brands will be notified within a reasonable amount of time to provide a response to the reports provided in our members letters.

    The ASFB maintains a network of experts spanning decades and continents of industry experience. If one of our members is in need of support in any matter we will always provide.
  • INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

    The ASFB maintains a global network of buyers and agencies for our members to connect with in order to expand to new markets.
  • STOCKHOLM FASHION WEEK

    A membership in the ASFB provides access to organizing events within the official schedule of
Stockholm Fashion Week and enables the ASFB to support the year-round work of maintaining the platform.
  • PARIS FASHION WEEK

    Each year we collaborate with the Swedish Institute in Paris to provide channels and venues for our member brands to organize events within the context of Paris Fashion Week.

    We keep our members up to date on developments and opportunities through our newsletters where we also send out invitations to our member exclusive events at Soho House Stockholm and Nordiska Kompaniet.
  • A VOTE

    At each Annual General Meeting our members are welcome to cast their vote in all things we do.
Each member brand receives one vote on each point in the agenda which includes overall strategy for the association as well as strategy regarding Stockholm Fashion Week.

Your membership also supports our work in fostering the Swedish design and fashion wonder through our collaborations with young talents and education.

The ASFB works together with schools and institutions throughout Europe and the world to provide opportunities for the talents of tomorrow, examples of these include but are not limited to:

  • Stockholm to Paris Fashion Week projects for young talents in Sweden.
  • Exchange Internships from international schools to Swedish fashion brands.
  • Collaborations with Swedish Fashion Schools both domestically and internationally.

Brands that wish to apply for membership are welcome to get in touch through the email listed below.

A membership grants a brand one vote at the annual general meeting, and as previously mentioned, a year round connection to the ASFB and it’s initiatives.

Applications are reviewed by the team and handed to the board for a final decision. Each application is reviewed as a whole, the process is tailored for each applying brand.

MEMBERSHIP FEE

Yearly membership fees are calculated based on the brands revenue for the latest reported fiscal year. The fee will then slot into one of our tiers.

A brands tier has no impact on the level of support or access a brand has to the ASFB.

Q - Who may apply for an SFA membership?
A - Brands that are either founded or located in Sweden, or run by swedish nationals abroad with a swedish customer base can apply for membership.

Q - Can individuals apply?

A - The ASFB is a member organisation for Swedish fashion brands. Thus a membership only pertains to brands.
